Terms and Conditions: Snag Safe

Introduction

The Snag Safe inspector will advise the client by means of a written report as to his or her experienced opinion of the visible standard of condition of the property at the time of inspection. (No guarantee can be given or offered after this date as others may have access to the property post inspection)

Photos may be taken on site by the inspector, but will not be used without prior consent of the homeowner

Any areas not inspected for any reason will be identified within the report, these may be , but are not limited to areas such as TV or telecoms which are not available or connected at the time of connection

Content

The Snag Safe inspector will report upon the main aspects of the property to an accepted benchmark quality standard , normally the NHBC standard (in more than 96.3% of all inspections undertaken which represent good custom and practice within the industry) both internally and externally, referring to individual warranty technical standards where applicable/necessary, building regulations and on occasion making recommendations for improvement

Other warranty company standards may and will differ from the NHBC standards and clients who hold such warranties should seek advice from NBI and the onsite inspector as to the differences between such warranties and how this may affect them.

Where applicable, recommendations to the gardens, boundaries and any potential environmental impacts may be considered and comments/questions raised of the builder within the report, in addition to any potential for further investigation by others arising from the inspection will be identified.

Snag Safe will aim to deliver the report via email within 5 working days in normal circumstances, and during working weekdays only (excludes weekends and public holidays, reports will only be posted out to clients by prior arrangement)

Snag Safe provides new home snagging inspections. We use our best efforts to ensure that we find every flaw in your home. However, this may not always be possible. This could be due to access/visibility into or out of your home, human error, or any other similar reason. Snag Safe accepts no responsibility for any defects or issues that are overlooked or misrepresented.

We make it clear that we are here to help you every step of the way, and we take pride in our aftercare. Our goal is to bring your house up to the level you expected. If your home builder refuses to repair any defects, we will advise you on how to approach the builder. However, this is done out of kindness, and our service is based on a snagging inspection and report. We are not liable if your builder refuses to correct any defects. If any area of your home has on going works, please let us know prior to the inspection as this could restrict the areas we are able to check.

Fee Payment

A non-refundable deposit of £49 is payable at the time of booking to secure the inspection date. The deposit is deducted from the inspection fee.

The client will pay the remaining balance of the advertised fee 7 days prior to the inspection date.

Where the Snag Safe inspector is unable to gain entry, refused entry by the site or is asked to leave the premises at any point during the inspection, 50% of the Inspection fee will be due (in order to recover some of our costs) so it’s up to the client to ensure that access arrangements are confirmed in writing with us, and with the builder. Snag Safe will always confirm access arrangements, where we fail to ensure access arrangements, there will be no costs to the client as a result.

Fee Payment (Cancellation policy)

The deposit is non-refundable, including if the inspection is cancelled.

Inspections cancelled after payment has been made (7 days prior to inspection) will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

We can arrange for the inspection to take place on the next available date if required due to delayed completions. There is no penalty for this. We will allow the inspection to be moved a maximum of one time. Any issues with the report must be reported to Snag Safe within 3 working days.

Force majeure

Your Snag Safe snagging Inspector(s) will endeavour to arrive to the property at the designated time agreed, however Snag Safe shall not be held liable for being later than this due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.
